The United States, through USAID, and in coordination with the Department of the Treasury, the Department of State, and the World Bank, has disbursed $3.41 billion in budget support to the Government of Ukraine since November 13, including approximately $465 million announced today. This disbursement, allocated by Congress, follows Ukraine's adoption of key reforms strengthening anti-corruption, economic, and oversight institutions. These advancements are pivotal to Ukraine's economic and democratic future, and will strengthen the foundation for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
Throughout Russia's full-scale invasion, USAID has continued to support Ukraine's economic resilience and its ongoing commitment to democratic values. This $3.41 billion disbursement will bring the total U.S. budget support provided to Ukraine since 2022 to more than $30 billion. Budget support from the U.S. and its partners enables healthcare, education, first responders, and other vital services to reach the people of Ukraine.
The U.S. government remains committed to the Ukrainian people as they continue to defend themselves from Putin's onslaught. Despite more than two and a half years of brutal war, Ukrainians continue to fight to defend their territorial sovereignty, and the values that underpin a prosperous democratic future. Autocrats around the world are watching whether the United States, its allies, and partners can sustain such resolve. Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine must not succeed.
