Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with humanitarian partners and Israeli officials, including Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Hertzi Halevi. The meeting participants discussed challenges to safely and sustainably delivering humanitarian assistance inside Gaza, and proposed actions to improve the operating and security environment. The participants agreed on a number of next steps to urgently address distribution, medical, sanitation, and coordination challenges and to reconvene to review progress.
Administrator Power thanked General Halevi and COGAT leadership, UN, and NGO humanitarian partners, for their participation in the meeting and efforts to get humanitarian aid to people in Gaza.
