Today, USAID Administrator Samantha Power met with World Bank Managing Director Axel van Trotsenburg to discuss partnership opportunities aimed at supporting national governments in advancing lead mitigation priorities. Specifically, they discussed the importance of measurement, both of blood lead levels and lead in the environment, as well as direct policy interventions to reduce exposures. They also explored opportunities to make existing development portfolios more lead-smart, and to improve coordination across national governments, development actors, philanthropies, and the private sector.
