USAID Administrator Samantha Power will travel to the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting from January 17 to 19. During her visit, the Administrator will emphasize the role and responsibility of the private sector in helping unlock solutions to critical global challenges and highlight the innovative partnerships between USAID and private sector partners.

Through public events and bilateral meetings, the Administrator will focus on efforts to elevate and address lead poisoning as a widely neglected yet highly solvable issue, which especially poses a danger for children; advance collaboration to combat the ocean plastic pollution crisis by catalyzing investments to reduce plastic waste and support sustainable businesses; mobilize partnerships that advance Ukraine's economic recovery; and increase private sector sustainable financing toward African countries.

On Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CET/9:00 a.m. EST, Administrator Power will lead a conversation on the global threat posed by lead poisoning. Find the livestream info here [https://www.weforum.org/events/world-economic-forum-annual-meeting-2024…;
