USAID Deputy Administrator Coleman Meets Portugal's Secretary of State for MOU Signing

USAID

Today, Deputy Administrator Coleman met with Portugal's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Francisco André, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Triangular Cooperation with the Government of Portugal's Institute for Cooperation and Language, Camões. The MOU establishes a basis for ongoing dialogue and trilateral cooperation to advance locally-led, sustainable development in common partner countries, especially in Portuguese-speaking nations in Africa.

To implement the MOU, USAID will work with Portugal to find concrete opportunities for cooperation. An initial priority will be to seek collaboration in Mozambique, including on countering violent extremism and restoring stability in the Cabo Delgado region.
