Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen will travel to Fayetteville, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 18 for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Fayetteville State University (FSU). As part of this partnership, USAID will develop and pilot an Acquisition Career Workforce Professional program at FSU, which will provide students with internships, professional development, and certification opportunities that will position them for careers with USAID and the federal workforce.
This ceremony will also mark the Agency's sixth agreement under USAID's Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Partnership Initiative to date.
In October 2020, USAID launched the Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Initiative during the USAID Historically Black Colleges and Universities Virtual Symposium with the aim of broadening awareness and access to USAID programs and initiatives and identifying opportunities for students and faculty to engage in U.S. foreign assistance and USAID's work. It is open to all MSIs, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions.
During her visit to FSU, Deputy Administrator Adams-Allen will engage with University Chancellor Darrell T. Allison, J.D., will formally sign the Memorandum of Understanding under USAID's MSI Partnerships Initiative, and will interact with FSU students, faculty, and administration to deepen USAID's relationships with FSU and to reinforce our commitment to this ongoing partnership.
