Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Ambassador of Morocco to the U.S. Youssef Amrani to discuss how Morocco and the U.S. can continue to build upon the strong and long-standing partnership between the two countries. Administrator Power recognized Morocco's efforts to get urgently needed humanitarian aid into Gaza. Administrator Power also highlighted the work of USAID/Morocco, in collaboration with a range of Moroccan partners, to advance localization efforts and support local leadership. USAID/Morocco has more than doubled its percentage of funding going to local organizations - from 16 percent in 2021 to almost 40 percent in 2023.
