USC's rare Friday night game this week against Rutgers (8 p.m. kickoff at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum) will be the first meeting between the Trojans and the Scarlet Knights on the football field. Though the two programs haven't met on the gridiron before, they have been collaborators in the classroom on several occasions.
In 2022, researchers from Rutgers and USC published a study on the rates of cigarette smoking among incarcerated individuals. The result - published in the Journal of Correctional Health Care - found that to effectively curb smoking among incarcerated individuals, at least four weeks of direct intervention is required, followed by months of substance dependence group counseling.
