The University of Texas at Arlington continues to be one of the nation's top universities, recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, student success and access, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings released Tuesday.
The publication's 2025 Best Colleges list emphasizes UTA's goal of making a world-class education accessible to all. The University is No. 36 in social mobility among the more than 400 national universities evaluated. This ranking is significant as it measures the University's success in enrolling and graduating students awarded Pell Grants, the nation's most extensive federal grant program offered to undergraduates from low-income households.
Additionally, UTA advanced three spots to No. 126 as the best public university and has top-ranked engineering, computer science, nursing, economics and business programs. The University was ranked No. 63 nationally for "most innovative," reinforcing UTA's prestigious Carnegie R-1 research university classification and emphasis on research that has lasting global impact.
"These rankings highlight UTA's unique combination of student access, a welcoming student body, a top-tier education and innovative research," UTA President Jennifer Cowley said. "Our students come from all walks of life and 98 different countries, and we have the commitment to make sure every single Maverick succeeds."
Along with the Wall Street Journal and Washington Monthly recently naming UTA the top school in our region, the latest U.S. News & World Report recognition shows that UTA is a premier destination for higher education.
Ranked No. 5 nationally for undergraduate diversity by U.S. News & World Report, UTA makes a high-quality college education accessible for many and continues to increase the number of Mavericks who graduate, as shown in the latest U.S. News & World Report analysis.
After graduation, our alumni gain access to a wide range of industries—including health care, engineering, business, technology, and finance—thanks to UTA's location in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, one of the fastest-growing regions in the U.S. and home to 21 Fortune 500 companies.
