The University of Texas at Arlington's online accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program is ranked as the best in the U.S. by Nursing Process.
It's yet another top national ranking for the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Earlier this month, the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program was ranked first by College Rank, while its online Master of Science in Nursing degree program was ranked second in Texas and seventh nationally by Best Health Degrees.
CONHI also was designated a 2019 Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing.
"This is wonderful recognition of the tremendous work being done by our faculty and staff under Dean Elizabeth Merwin's leadership," UTA President Vistasp Karbhari said. "This is the second No. 1 ranking in recent weeks, and it clearly cements the great reputation of the college and its programs and showcases its ability to meet the critical needs of the state and nation by integrating the highest levels of academic excellence and rigor with the maximum level of preparation of skills for immediate impact in the workforce."
According to Nursing Process, online baccalaureate program rankings are based on factors including academic quality, affordability, online education presence and individual ratings. Data used to determine the rankings is extracted from the National Center for Education Statistics. College rankings, ratings and student reviews were sourced from U.S. News, Niche, Grad Reports and Rate My Professors.
"This is yet another accolade that reflects the commitment and hard work of our faculty," Merwin said. "Our extremely knowledgeable and talented faculty members are devoted to promoting student success and preparing the next generation of health care workers to address critical needs in our communities."
The impact of UTA's graduates in the workforce is reflected across the nation, but especially in North Texas. UTA partners with many area hospitals—such as Medical City Arlington, Texas Health Resources, UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children's Health—to fulfill patient care needs in surrounding communities and beyond.
CoNHI is the No. 1 producer of baccalaureate-degreed nurses in Texas and is the largest nursing program of any public institution in the country. Its online RN-to-BSN program, launched a decade ago, has graduated more than 19,000 students.
