The construction of the 2023 VAILO Adelaide 500 has reached a key milestone, with the arrival and assembly of a new shade structure ready for installation over the grandstand on Pit Straight in Victoria Park.
Premier Peter Malinauskas today visited the track with 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000 winner Shane van Gisbergen, who was crowned "King of the Mountain" last weekend.
The Adelaide 500, to be held on November 23-26 is shaping up as the Supercar Championship decider, with title leader Brodie Kostecki facing a challenge from Van Gisbergen, who will compete his final race in Australia before joining the NASCAR series in the USA.
The installation of the new shade structure on Pit Straight delivers upon the Malinauskas Labor Government's commitment to provide shade to almost 70 per cent of all grandstand seats, up from 44 per cent in 2022.
The Government's decision to reinstate the Adelaide 500 delivered significant dividends in 2022, with more than 258,000 fans in attendance, delivering a record economic benefit of $51.85 million.
The mammoth build for this year's VAILO Adelaide 500 is on track with provision for:
* 6 Grandstands – 13,912 seats (2 in progress)
* 3 Accessibility Viewing Structures
* 12 Corporate Hospitality Structures (4 in progress)
* 5 Overpasses Structures (2 in progress)
To date, the event is enjoying strong ticket sales, up 6.5% off the back of a successful event in 2022, confirmation of headline music act Robbie Williams and interest in a nail-biting Repco Supercars Championship season which will likely come down to the wire.
The VAILO Adelaide 500 is Australia's largest domestic ticketed motorsport event – bigger than Bathurst – with four-day and single day covered grandstand tickets, as well as general admission options available.
Event organisers are also ramping up corporate hospitality suite offerings 2023, drawing inspiration from the F1 Paddock. This includes three-story Precinct by ESE which will be one of the hot spots to watch all the racing.
Beyond the high-speed action of the racing track, American car masters and reality TV personalities Dave Kindig and Kevin Schiele of 'Kindig Customs' fame, will be visiting Australia for the first time and will be exclusive to the event.
With further motorsport categories and family friendly activities, there is truly something for everyone, all included in a general admission ticket for under $100.

The return of the VAILO Adelaide 500 last year proved a stunning success, with a world class event showcasing our city to the rest of the nation.
This year we plan to go one better. A nail-biting Supercar series contest, world class entertainment from the likes of Robbie Williams, Carl Cox and others, and improved shade and amenity for fans mean there's never been a better time to attend the race.
We've worked hard to deliver a major event that is accessible to everyday South Australians, with general admission ticketing option starting from $29, free admission for kids under 12 with a paying adult, and a covered grandstand seat for less than a hundred dollars.
As put by Shane van Gisbergen
The VAILO Adelaide 500 is one of favourite events and street circuits in the world and it will be a fitting stage for my farewell to Supercars racing in Australia, for now.
On track, it couldn't be closer ahead of this Championship decider, it won't be your typical 1:1 Championship battle this year- there's a fight between four drivers.
The new cars this year have less downforce, so these cars are harder to drive, and are less predictable. Turn 8 in a new car is going to be hair-raising to say the least.
Us drivers will be sure to put on a show for fans of all ages once again on the streets of Adelaide, and with the competition as hot as ever it'll be a show you don't want to miss!
As put by VAILO Adelaide 500 Chief Executive Mark Warren
The VAILO Adelaide 500 has long been a jewel in our state's events calendar.
In fact it is the only event in the Supercars Hall of Fame and was a 2022 Supercars Fan award winner.
We are committed to delivering the best and most entertaining motorsport line-up at the VAILO Adelaide 500.
Our team is ready and we're counting down the days until we see the 2023 Repo Bathurst1000 Champion, Shane, and all the legendary Supercars drivers racing on our iconic Adelaide track in November.
The VAILO Adelaide 500 will be held November 23 - 26, 2023. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketek with kids 12 and under free in General Admission areas with a paying adult.
