Vandals Damage Popular Foreshore Area At Valentine

Lake Macquarie City Council

Green point reserve damage.jpeg

Multiple areas across Green Point Foreshore Reserve at Valentine have been significantly vandalised by people illegally using trail bikes.

The bikes have torn up grassed areas throughout the reserve, leaving deep indentations that could become hazardous when the ground dries out.

The damage has been compounded by recent adverse weather as the ground is soft and more susceptible to damage.

The areas affected include:

  • Barbecue areas near "The Shores Way"
  • Sea Eagle Recreation Area
  • Recreational areas at the Bennett Park end of the reserve.

These areas are temporarily closed to the public while the damage is repaired.

Council has installed CCTV towers at the reserve due to the recent spate of vandalism, focusing on areas where these issues are most prevalent. Council is working with NSW Police on strategies to prevent further damage.

If you witnessed any incidents of vandalism, please phone the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 to make a report.
