Vasey RSL Care is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Veterans Home Care (VHC) contract with the Federal Government. Vasey RSL Care has over 20 years' experience in the provision of home care, providing home care services to approximately 250 clients with the majority in the metropolitan Melbourne region.
The Veterans Home Care (VHC) program provides essential home care services for the health, wellbeing and independence of eligible veterans and their families. These services encompass a range of support, including domestic help, personal care, respite care, home and garden maintenance and lawn mowing.
Rich Davey, General Manager Community Services at Vasey RSL Care, who oversees the management of the organisation's provision of home care said, "This is fantastic news for our organisation: Vasey RSL Care is experienced both in supporting the veteran community and in providing home care. It makes sense for us to serve this community on behalf of Government and we look forward to assisting these veterans to live comfortably and remain at home in their older years."
Glen Iris residents Leonie and Geoffrey Christopherson have been home care clients of Vasey RSL Care for many years and said that staying in their own home meant everything to them. "We spent our life travelling around for Geoff's army service, so when we settled in Glen Iris, we wanted to stay here for good. We would not have been able to do that without Vasey RSL Care's help."
Ms Christopherson said, "Home Care Packages can be really chaotic to navigate, and I was certainly overwhelmed at trying to organise the services myself. When Vasey RSL Care took over the organising, I felt relieved and like all the stress had gone away: the assistance they have provided us has been priceless."
With Vasey RSL Care's assistance, the Christophersons are now able to maintain their independence and quality home life with a support program in place and services organised for them.
