Venue fined $11,000 for breaches - Fairfield Heights

A western Sydney venue has been fined $11,000 after two breaches were allegedly detected during a compliance check yesterday.

About 1.30pm (Wednesday 3 February 2021), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended a function venue on The Boulevarde, Fairfield Heights, after concerns were raised by members of the public regarding compliance with the Public Health Orders.

During the compliance check, officers spoke to a 43-year-old man, who police will allege could not produce a copy of the venue's COVID-19 safety plan.

It will be further alleged the venue's CCTV was not operational, which is in breach of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

The organisation was issued with a $5000 Penalty Infringement Notice for not comply with noticed direction in relation to 7/8/9 – COVID19 Corporation and a $6000 penalty notice for development not accord consent – any other case – corporation.

Police continue to appeal to the community to report suspected breaches of any ministerial direction or behaviour which may impact on the health and safety of the community.
