Verma to Speak on U.S. Diplomacy at Harvard Event

Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma will deliver remarks on "Increasing American Diplomatic Power" at Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs on Thursday, October 31. He will highlight progress made under the State Department's Modernization Agenda, a major initiative of Secretary of State Antony Blinken that Deputy Secretary Verma has led to equip the State Department and its workforce with the tools and resources to successfully navigate global challenges of the 21st century.

At the event, the Deputy Secretary will release a white paper he has authored, that explains how the State Department has renewed and revitalized itself to navigate new realities and deliver on emerging missions. After delivering remarks, Deputy Secretary Verma will participate in a discussion with Eric Rosenbach, Director of the Defense, Emerging Technology, and Strategy Program at the Belfer Center.

The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 31.

Upon conclusion, the event will also be available for viewing on the Belfer Center's YouTube channel.
