Victoria Drill Core Library Welcomes Global Visitors

The Resources Victoria Drill Core Library continues to be a valuable tool for promoting the state's critical mineral potential to an international audience.

Earlier this month, representatives from the Polish government and energy sector had a unique opportunity to get hands-on with Victorian core rich in antimony and gold.

The delegation was in Melbourne to better understand the state's critical mineral resources, how they may be sustainably developed and the state's approach to building a critical mineral supply chain.

They were presented information about Victoria's Critical Minerals Roadmap, the vast amount of Victorian geological data publicly available and several current research projects.

Coordinated by Invest Victoria, the visit also explored partnership opportunities between Polish and Victorian companies.

The Drill Core Library stores Victorian rock specimens and data from drill holes dating back to 1889. These can be accessed and reanalysed using modern technology to help locate the minerals required for renewable energy infrastructure, medical implants and mobile phones.
