The upgraded boat ramp at Echuca's Victoria Park was officially opened on 27 February.
The multi-year project to upgrade the boat ramp and associated infrastructure was completed in December 2024, with works at the facility including the renewal of the top section of the boat ramp pavement and the submerged wet ramp, the retaining walls, and installing a walkway ramp and a floating dock with a crane to assist people of all abilities to access watercraft.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell, welcomed those in attendance on Thursday and thanked all whose work had played a part in bringing the project to fruition.
"Despite the challenges posed by the 2022 flood event, which significantly delayed the project, we persevered and are proud to present a fantastic facility that caters to the needs of all users," Cr Mackrell said.
The boat ramp is part of a broader master plan for Victoria Park, with the project having received significant funding from Victoria Fisheries Authority through the Better Boating Victoria program, and from the Victorian Government through the Universal Design Program.
