Victoria Park Boat Ramp Upgrades Progressing Well

Stage 2 of a multi-year project to upgrade Echuca's Victoria Park boat ramp and associated infrastructure is on track for completion in December.

The Stage 2 works at the facility include the renewal and upgrade of the wet ramp pavement and existing retaining walls to include an all-abilities walkway ramp and a floating dock, which will include a crane to enable easier access to watercraft for people with a disability. The concrete and footpath works are progressing well, while the retaining wall works are nearly finished. Once these are complete, landscaping of the area and equipment fit-out will follow.

Community members and visitors are advised that the boat ramp car park will be closed on 3 December 2024 between 8am and 5pm while line-marking takes place.

The boat ramp itself will be closed from 9 December to 11 December while the floating dock is installed. To enable this work to be undertaken, a crane will park on the ramp and lift the pontoon segments and the gangway into place. During this time, residents and visitors can use other boat ramps in the area, such as Five Mile Moama, Torrumbarry, and Echuca East.

The Stage 2 works at Victoria Park began in July and are on track to be completed in December 2024. Once completed, the project will provide a safe and accessible boat launching and retrieval point on the Murray River for watercraft users.

The boat ramp is part of a broader master plan for Victoria Park, with the project having received significant funding from Victoria Fisheries Authority through the Better Boating Victoria program, and from the Victorian Government through the Universal Design Program.
