Victoria Reveals Squad for Key Sheffield Shield Match

Victoria has named its 13-player squad for Friday's important Sheffield Shield clash against Western Australia at CitiPower Centre.

Australia A representatives Todd Murphy, Fergus O'Neill, and batsman Marcus Harris return, while Xavier Crone has also been recalled following his outstanding Second XI and Premier Cricket form.

Peter Handscomb will lead Victoria for the second consecutive Shield match, as Will Sutherland recovers from a minor side-strain.

Tomorrow's contest shapes as a pivotal match for both sides, with Victoria trailing the top-of-the-table Western Australia by one win.

Speaking on SEN earlier today, Victorian Head Coach, Chris Rogers, said the hosts were looking to build on their momentum following yesterday's stirring One-Day Cup win over WA at the MCG.

"We're really excited for Friday after getting a good result against quality opposition," said Rogers.

"To be able to bring back a number of our experienced players is a real positive. We're in really good shape, so hopefully we can win the toss and get in front of the game early.

"These next three matches are crucial for us, so if we can be in a healthy position going into the break, we can have a real crack at the title, which would be fantastic for this group."

Victoria face Western Australia at CitiPower Centre in Round 4 of the Sheffield Shield beginning on November 15 at 10:30 AM AEDT. The game can be seen on Kayo Sports and cricket.com.au
