Victoria Reveals Squad for WNCL Season Home Finale

Victoria has unveiled its 13-player squad for this week's pair of WNCL matches against the Queensland Fire at CitiPower Centre, in what will be the side's final two home games of the season.

Victoria will be chasing its third consecutive win after two thrilling victories over Western Australia last week.

Hasrat Gill returns to the squad after recently representing Australia at the U19 World Cup, where the talented allrounder was named Vice-Captain of the national team.

Meanwhile, Tess Flintoff will look to continue her impressive recent form, following her match winning 77-run knock last round.

Flintoff and Gill are two of a number of emerging Victorian stars who have impressed in 2024/25, alongside the hard-hitting Rhys McKenna, batter Oliva Henry and all-rounder Ella Hayward.

Hayward has experienced a break-out season with both bat and ball, capturing Victoria's second-highest number of wickets (8) while also being her side's second-highest leading run scorer (335 runs).

The twenty-one-year-old said she was excited for the challenge of facing the top of the table Fire.

"The mood around the squad has been really good this week," said Hayward.

"It's going to be a great test for us, but confidence is really high after getting through those two close games against WA.

"Our focus is preparing to deliver our best and has been all season. Our best can match it with anyone, so we want to stick to our strengths and embrace what we do well."

Victoria faces the Queensland Fire in the WNCL on Friday February 7 and Sunday February 9, with both matches getting underway at 10 AM AEDT at CitiPower Centre. Admission is free.
