Victoria name squads for Under 16 Female National Championships

Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the Victoria Metro and Country Squads for the Under 16 National Championships, being held in early January 2025.

The squads have been named following a thorough selection and training block, which was highlighted by a trip to Monivae College in Hamilton to play matches against South Australia.

Victoria Country will be coached by Rhiann O'Donnell, with assistant coach Cassie Brock, while Head Coach Tegan Parker and assistant coach Sophie Strickland return to coach Victoria Metro, following their National Championships winning campaign last year.

This year's Country squad features Indigo Noble, who recently represented the Melbourne Stars in the Spring Challenge and has also been named for Victoria Country in the U19s team.

For Victoria Metro, Noura Abdul Qader and Ira Aery have also been named in both the U16 and U19s National Championship squads, which is a huge achievement. Cricket Victoria's Talent Development Manager – Female, Cassie Brock, said "Our players have continued to expand and develop all facets of their game throughout an extensive Emerging Player Program."

"The level of performance from all players has been exceptional and it's a real credit to the effort they are putting in to continue their development. The National Championships will provide a fantastic opportunity for players to showcase their skills whilst coming together and representing Victoria with great pride."

Confirmation of the host state and venues for the U16 Female National Championships will be confirmed shortly by Cricket Australia.
