A local man from Lilydale found himself breaking into a cold sweat yesterday morning as he realized he had won a staggering $1.7 million share from the $5.1 million jackpot drawn in weekend's TattsLotto draw.
The Victorian held one of the three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4461 on Saturday 20 April 2024. His total prize was $1,703,991.72.
“It’s insane!” the winning man declared when lotto officials confirmed his win.
“It’s so good!
“I just thought, ‘I haven’t checked my ticket’ as I was lying in bed this morning. I looked at it and it said I had won. I was looking at all the numbers in green and thought, ’nah, that’s not right’.
“The funniest thing is that people have always told me, ‘You’ll never win anything’, but you’ve got to be in it to win it!
“Our lives have just insanely changed. I can’t get over it.
“I’m sweating – I had to take my jacket off. It’s cold and I’m sweating!
“We don’t have a mortgage anymore!
“We’re going to get rid of the mortgage, maybe enjoy a family holiday, and just have a nest egg for ourselves and the kids.
“The first thing I thought, too, was I definitely want to help Mum out and make sure she’s set up.
“Unbelievable!”
The man’s winning ticket was a System 8 entry QuickPick entry.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4461 on 20 April 2024 were 44. 6. 16. 43. 19 and 25, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 14.
