A Victorian TAFE has been named Large Training Provider of the Year at the Australian Training Awards for the sixth consecutive year.
Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney today congratulated the Victorian winners who were named at the ceremony held in Perth on Thursday night.
William Angliss Institute took out this year's Large Training Provider of the Year award for the sixth time, which has also previously been awarded to other Victorian TAFEs including South West TAFE, SuniTAFE, Wodonga TAFE, Gordon TAFE and Box Hill Institute since 2016.
The world-class Victorian skills and training sector was celebrated through the achievements of five winners and a runner-up, while a further eight Victorian students, teachers, employers and organisations were recognised as finalists.
The Australian Training Awards highlight outstanding achievements by the nation's best students, teachers, trainers and employers in the vocational education and training sector.
The Andrews Labor Government has made a record $3.2 billion investment to rebuild TAFE and support universities and higher education to ensure Victorians have access to high quality education and rewarding career pathways.
The Victorian Budget 2021/22 includes a $383.8 million investment in the sector to ensure more Victorians get the training they need for in-demand jobs.
