Three Cowes mates are looking forward to the holiday of a lifetime after their private syndicate won more than $1 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Phillip Island residents held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4491 on Saturday 3 August 2024. Each division one winning entry took home $1,044,169.77.
“I’m walking with a bit of a spring in my step this morning!” one of the winning men declared when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“Thank you very much. I’m elated!
“It’s a syndicate ticket with two of my good mates. We’ve been playing the same ticket for more than 10 years!
“It’s come at an amazing time because the three of us have a holiday booked soon. We’ll be having an even better time now!
“It’s funny because I kept saying to the guys, ‘Do we keep playing this ticket?’. I wasn’t so sure of it but luckily, they kept saying ‘Yes!’.
“It’s a System 9 ticket so we each picked three numbers. We’re trying to figure out whose numbers won but it was so long ago that none of us remember which ones we chose.
“We’re over the moon! We already had a couple of celebratory drinks last night.
“I’ve started shaking again. I couldn’t stop shaking all of Saturday and I thought it had finally stopped!
“Thank you so much!”
Their winning marked System 9 entry was purchased at Cowes Newsagency - Phillip Island, Shop 3, 68 - 80 Thompson Avenue, Cowes.
Cowes Newsagency owners David and Angela Banik said they were excited to have sold its first division one winning entry.
“Phillip Island has been waiting a while for this,” David said.
“How good is the feeling knowing someone's life will be a little different from yesterday!
“We hope they were sitting down when they got the phone call. I’m sure there were tears of happiness!
"We congratulate our division one winner. We are so thrilled to be a small part in helping a dream become a reality.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4491 on 3 August 2024 were 12, 41, 11, 10, 45 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 28.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4491 – three in Victoria and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.
