A Victorian man has turned family birthdates into a winning formula, snagging a big chunk of Saturday’s Gold Lotto $20 million Superdraw top prize.
The local Watsonia held one of the 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 on July 27, 2024 with each winner taking home about $1 million ($952,380.96).
The man was oblivious to his good fortune until a lotto official called him on Sunday morning.
“Oh my god! I’ve just seen it! Nine hundred and fifty-two thousand?!” he cried when he checked his ticket.
“That’s incredible.
“I was just having breakfast and had no idea. I’m glad you called as I wouldn’t have checked the ticket for a week or so.
“I think the shock has just kicked in!
“This is the best phone call I’ve received in a long, long time.
“The numbers on this ticket are a combination of birthdays and family anniversaries – so they are special numbers.
“This is going to change our lives and it means lots of wishes will come true.
“Thank you so much. I can’t believe it. It’s amazing!
“We were about to go for a walk outside, but I don’t think we will now – my heart’s already racing!”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4489 on 27 July 2024 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.
Across Australia, there were 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 – eight in Victoria, five in New South Wales, four in Queensland and two each in South Australia and Western Australia.
