Vietnam-born Man Charged With Two Visa Breaches

A Vietnam-born man is set to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today (27 August, 2024) charged with allegedly failing to comply with a visa-mandated condition.

The AFP charged the man, 28, on 26 August, 2024, after he was arrested in Brisbane.

It will be alleged the man breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to comply with electronic monitoring conditions.

The man has been charged with:

  • Two counts of failing to comply with electronic monitoring conditions, contrary to section 76D(3) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and a $93,900 fine for each offence.
