This week I will travel to London for meetings with senior members of the government of the United Kingdom.
Australia and the United Kingdom are close partners and friends - our relationship is underpinned by our shared history, values and interests.
This visit is an opportunity to reflect on our strong bilateral links, reaffirm our shared commitment to protecting democratic values and an international rules-based order, and maximise our influence on emerging threats and transnational challenges.
During my three-day visit I will meet with the Attorney General for England and Wales, Rt Hon Baron Richard Hermer KC; Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP; Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Sir Mark Rowley QPM; Director General of MI5, Sir Ken McCallum; President of the Commonwealth Jewish Council, Lord Jonathan Mendelsohn; and UK Independent Reviewer of State Terrorism Legislation and Independent Reviewer of State Threats Legislation, Jonathan Hall KC.
