Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Toolkit

The Volunteer Recruitment and Retention (VR&R) project team has redeveloped the Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Toolkit.

Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Toolkit

The toolkit has now been updated in line with current practices and contains new and redeveloped resources to support brigades throughout their volunteer journey.

The scope has been expanded to include the various stages of the volunteer lifecycle, from attraction to the brigade, their time as a member, through to exiting the brigade.

Originally a paper-based guide, the now online toolkit is easily accessible for members through Members Online with a modernised look and feel.

Project Manager Niki Habibis said the toolkit contains information and practical tools to support members throughout all stages of the lifecycle.

"Resources are imbedded within each section of the Toolkit and have been developed in consultation with other CFA departments and volunteers to best support their needs."

Recruitment is just one of the many solutions brigades may identify, and the toolkit emphasises that this should only happen once other options have been explored.

The kit includes local examples where possible to show how initiatives have been implemented in real life.

"We hope the toolkit will help members in every aspect of the volunteer journey." Niki added.
