We need convenors and volunteers to help manage our reserves, heathlands and foreshore. Whether you're passionate about planting, weeding or wildlife conservation, or you would like to learn more about our local flora and fauna while meeting like-minded people, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteering for one of our environmental Friends groups in Bayside offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in preserving and enhancing local ecosystems, while connecting with a passionate community dedicated to protecting our natural environment. Here's what you can expect:

Convenor positions open
We have three Friends groups in need of a convenor:
- Gramatan Avenue Heathland Sanctuary, Beaumaris
- Ricketts Point foreshore, Beaumaris
- Table Rock foreshore reserve, Beaumaris.
The convenor of each Friends group takes on these responsibilities:
- Cultivate inclusiveness and cohesion within the volunteer group
- Act as the main contact for enquiries
- Encourage the group to share their stories in Banksia Bulletin
- Be the liaison between Council, Citywide and the Friends group
- Participate in drafting an annual Action Plan for the reserve.
