Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall encouraged the public to get behind their favourite holiday destination.
"The GW7 Top Tourism Town Awards give us all the opportunity to reward towns for the way they treat their visitors, so it's a great way to say thank you to the places we love to visit," Mr Hall said.
"It could be a town you've only just discovered, but where you felt incredibly welcomed in your time there - or it could be the place you visit year in, year out because you always have a fantastic experience. This is your chance to have your say."
The public vote is combined with votes from an industry panel of judges to decide which destinations will receive the titles of Top Tourism Town, Small Tourism Town and Tiny Tourism Town. The winning destinations will go into a National competition against winners from other States for the chance to be named Australia's Top Tourism Town, Small Tourism Town or Tiny Tourism Town.
The GWN7 Top Tourism Town Awards have been running for more than 30 years and recognises cities and towns across Western Australia for their commitment to tourism and the innovative experiences and facilities on offer.
The winner in the GWN7 Top Tourism Town Award will receive a $20,000 airtime package from GWN7 to promote their town on regional television, with the winner of the GWN7 Small Tourism Town Award picking up a $10,000 airtime package and the GWN7 Tiny Tourism Town winner receiving a $5,000 package.
The awards are run by Tourism Council WA and Visitor Centres WA, and are supported by GWN7, Vanguard Press, Tourism WA and RAC Parks & Resorts. Award winners will be announced at the 2022 Perth Airport WA Tourism Conference Dinner in Perth on June 22.
