WA Excellence In Allied Health Awards

The inaugural WA Excellence in Allied Health awards were held on 10 October 2024, recognising the phenomenal work of allied health workers across WA who have made an outstanding contribution to their field.

Western Australia's 25,000 allied health professionals represent almost one third of the health workforce and deliver more than 20 million health services annually.

Winners came from a variety of backgrounds and specialities, showcasing the diverse nature of the allied health workforce.

The 2024 winners are:

  • Aboriginal Allied Health of the Year– Kim Hawkett – Royal Perth Bentley Group, East Metropolitan Health Service
  • Allied Health Assistant of the Year – Parvan Gill – Perth Children's Hospital, Child and Adolescent Health Service
  • Early Career Allied Health Professional of the Year – Paige Dhu – Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group, South Metropolitan Heath Service
  • Allied Health Researcher of the Year – Pamela Laird – Perth Children's Hospital, Child and Adolescent Health Service
  • Allied Health Educator of the Year - Katrine Nehyba – Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group, South Metropolitan Heath Service
  • Allied Health Leader of the Year - Elizabeth Oliver – Curtin University/Meath Care/Memory Box Collective
  • Allied Health Professional of the Year:
    • Mental Health: Jazmine Morris Mccall – Fiona Stanley Hospital, South Metropolitan Heath Service
    • Public Health: Kate Baumwol – Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, North Metropolitan Health Service
    • Primary/Community Care: Dayna Pool – The Healthy Strides Foundation
    • Rural: Denise Lou – WA Country Health Service
  • Allied Health Team of the Year - Centre for Clinical Interventions Team, North Metropolitan Health Service
  • Lifetime Achievement Honour – Prof. Angus Buchanan – Curtin University
