The Cook Government is pleased to announce new traffic infringement payment options offered by the Department of Transport (DoT) to assist those who may have difficulty paying by the due date.
From today, 7 October, a range of online payment options and infringement services are available on the DoT website and DoTDirect as part of a more modern, customer-focused online traffic infringement management system for Western Australia.
The new payment options and services include:
- direct debit payment instalment plans;
- payment extensions;
- identifying the driver of the vehicle; and
- electing to have the matter heard by a court.
The new DoTDirect infringement services make it easier to submit the identity of the person behind the wheel at the time of an alleged traffic offence.
The community can also log into DoTDirect to view traffic infringement images or request a review or a court hearing.
The changes have been implemented as part of the Infringement Management Reform Program (IMRP), a whole-of-government solution to address WA's outdated traffic infringement system.
The reform, led by the Road Safety Commission and supported by DoT and WA Police Force resulted in infringement administration and management transfer from WA Police Force to DoT in 2024.
