Walking In Footsteps Of Your Ancestor

Picture of cousins Stephen and Barbara Gow on their UK travels. Photo courtesy B & S Gow.On Wednesday 13 November, family historians and fourth cousins, Stephen Gow and Barbara Gow will present a talk, Walking in the footsteps of your ancestor, at the Hawkesbury Family History Group meeting.

They will discuss their 2023 UK travels to places connected with their ancestor William PT Gow, a pioneer of the Wilberforce area.

William came to NSW as a teenage convict, but his ability to read and write enabled him to turn his life around as one of the early public schoolmasters at the Macquarie Schoolhouse. Barbara and Stephen will share the highlights of walking in William's footsteps.

This event will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, Ground Floor, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street at 10am. Refreshments will be served following the talk.
