Roaming entertainers, carnival rides, live music, dessert trucks, a licensed pop-up bar, an open-air cinema and more will join Wander On Q as it returns on Saturday 12 October.
From 4pm to 10pm, visitors can enjoy attractions across three unique zones located in and around Queen Street CBD, including grant-funded business-led activations and decorative festoon lighting connecting each space.
"Wander On Q received great support from our community when it first launched in 2022, giving residents and visitors a chance to explore Campbelltown CBD in a fresh and exciting way," said Mayor Dr George Greiss.
"This year we're putting the spotlight on business owners in our CBD, to help visitors discover some new local favourites, as well as one-night-only attractions," Dr Greiss said.
"I look forward to seeing everyone join us for a great night of celebration in our CBD," he said.
This year's event is co-funded by Transport for NSW, who will contribute $150,000 through the Open Streets Program as part of the NSW Government's Vibrant Streets Package.
"We're excited to support this event in Campbelltown," Minister for Roads, Arts, Music and the Night-Time Economy, Jobs and Tourism John Graham said.
"Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. Our streets are a critical part of our public and social infrastructure. Great streets make great towns and centres and reflect the local community and culture," Mr Graham said.
"The Open Streets program is about temporarily transforming our main streets into vibrant and welcoming public event spaces," he said.
"The colour and diversity of these 130 events celebrates the unique personality of each town or suburb. This is what our vibrancy agenda is all about, backing locals to create events and entertainment that works for their local community."
Campbelltown Arts Centre will join this year's celebration with an art activation space at Forum Q, including live dance performances, art workshops and slug chair installations through Anzac Lane.
Attendees can also enjoy a Campbelltown City Council Youth Action Team-led space at Lithgow Street and Fashion Lane at Patrick Street.
An 18+ licensed pop-up bar hosted by The Campbell will be available to attendees throughout the event.
Visitors looking to embrace the festivities early can watch King's Kebab House in Queen Street, from 2pm, as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Halal Snack Pack.
To host the event festivities, streets around Campbelltown CBD will be closed in the lead-up to
the event, including:
- Queen Street and Patrick Street (7am to 1am)
- Lithgow Street (7am to 1am)
- Dumaresq Street (11am to 1am)
