Sometimes, an opportunity comes up that gives you the rare chance to make a difference. This is one of those times.

We currently have Expressions of Interest open to join the Selection Panel for our 2025 Australia Day Local Awards!

Expressions of Interest must close on Monday 19 August 2024.

Don't miss an opportunity to sit on a panel that genuinely makes a difference. This could mean a difference in someone's life. Or someone's business. Or a community group's future.

The Selection Panel is made up of community members, who assess and deliberate on all nominations. Your recommendations are then given to Council, who make the final call.

What are we looking for?

Successful candidates will follow in the footsteps of those who came before them. The qualities you will uphold, include:

  • Demonstrated personal and professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated expertise, experience and/or commitment to recognition of achievement in the community.
  • Track record of constructive and collaborative decision making in a board or committee type structure.
  • Be available to attend and actively participate in an annual selection process meeting.
  • Maintain absolute discretion around Committee deliberations and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to formulate and explain recommendations.
  • Be residents and/or business operators in the municipality.
