Water Restrictions - Warialda

Tuesday 7th January 2025

Residents are reminded that water restrictions are in place due to PFAS contamination of the Hospital Park and Crane Street Bores. Council has a reduced capacity to pump water with these two bores being isolated and not used.

The use of fixed sprinklers is prohibited.

Handheld hoses can be used anytime of the day, the most effective use is before 10am and after 8pm at night.

Please note that the current water restrictions will continue indefinitely. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, especially given the current heat conditions.

Council is investigating options for establishing a new bore and treating the existing bores to remove PFAS.

A program has been developed to maintain Council's Parks and Gardens with the limited water available.

Updates will be posted on the Gwydir Shire Council Facebook page and website: https://www.gwydir.nsw.gov.au/Council/Shire-News

Yours faithfully
