Warwick Taylor, a dedicated Western Downs Regional Council employee, has been honoured with the Team Member of the Year Award at the prestigious Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia, Queensland and Northern Territory (IPWEA-QNT).

The Award recognises Mr Taylor's dedication and commitment to the public works sector.

Each year the IPWEA-QNT Excellence Awards recognise the hard work and dedication of companies, and their team members in the public works sector for engineering.

IPWEA-QNT's Peoples Excellence Award Team Member of the Year recipient Mr Warwick Taylor said he was honoured to receive the award and to be recognised for his efforts by the Institute.

"I am lucky to be part of a dedicated team whose support has been instrumental in reaching this milestone and it is a great feeling knowing my efforts are appreciated by the team," Mr Taylor said.

"WDRC is an amazing place to work and provides endless opportunities for personal and professional development.

"I initially started at Council in a short, fixed term role that provided opportunity to build professional relationships and learn new skills. I was able to use these skills to move into different roles in the organisation."

Western Downs Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Jodie Taylor said the award demonstrated the hard work and dedication of Warwick and the outstanding achievements of Council's infrastructure and engineering department.

"This award recognises Warwick's excellence, innovation, forward thinking and sustainability in the delivery of projects that benefit the Western Downs," Mrs Taylor said.

"Warwick is very passionate about the work our infrastructure services team does out in the community every day.

"Here on the Western Downs, we truly believe it's the people that make it, and Warwick winning this award shows the high value we place on investing in our team and community."
