Townsville locals now have the chance to get up close and personal with Wedgwood: Artists and Industry as a volunteer for the landmark exhibition.
Wedgwood: Artists and Industry will open its doors at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery on April 6, sharing the story of the fine ceramics house in an immersive exhibition featuring more than 100 objects shipped from London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Townsville City Galleries Director Holly Arden said volunteering was a great way to experience the exhibition and give back to the community at the same time.
"Wedgwood: Artists and Industry is a unique exhibition for Townsville and is one of Perc Tucker Regional Gallery's most significant collaborations with an international museum," Dr Arden said.
"There is a lot of excitement around this exhibition, so we are expecting quite a few people coming through the doors to take in the wonder of Wedgwood. What this means for us is that we need volunteers to join us in assisting patrons with questions and helping to keep the space clean and safe.
"Volunteers will be trained by our dedicated staff in sharing the rich history of Wedgwood with the community. This is a great way to give back, make new friends and become immersed in one of Townsville's most significant art events of 2025."
Volunteers can assist from April 6 to August 24 this year. To sign up or to learn more, head to Council's Wedgwood: Artists and Industry page.
