"Tis the season to be jolly" the old Christmas carol states. Perhaps after the last year with all the difficulties we faced with Covid, it's a very true statement indeed. Really there is so many good things to celebrate at this time generally and some fantastic developments taking place in Carisbrook.
Congratulations to the Carisbrook Lions on their 40 year anniversary. What a proud achievement of community service over such a long period. Well done Carisbrook Lions!
The good things happening in Carisbrook include obtaining the funding for the final stage of the Levee, the development at the Recreation Reserve, the commencement of renovations at the Town Hall, new footpaths and the master plan for the Creek. Community Conversations have connected long time residents with new residents keen to contribute to community life.
I don't think there has even been a more positive time for Central Goldfields Shire or a better future. We now have a bold inspiring Community Vision and a focused Council Plan. Our task ahead as a Council is to partner with those organisations who see the upside in everything and deliver the key goals and priorities. With two elections advocacy will be critical.
This year Council thought we all needed cheering up. It's been fantastic to see the community reaction to our new Christmas trees and decorations. They really did achieve their purpose.
On behalf of my fellow Councillors!, CEO and staff, I want to wish everyone a merry but safe Christmas and a genuinely happy New Year.
