We're bashing bindiis and clearing up clover on fields across the Kempsey Shire from next week.
Kempsey Shire Council is spraying some parks and fields between Monday 22 August and Friday 2 September, weather permitting.
The target species are broadleaf weeds including bindiis and clovers.
Signage will be put up in these areas to let the community know when spraying is occurring. These areas will be closed for a short time while the spraying takes place and staff will remain on site until the chemical dries. The fields will then reopen for normal use.
The spraying locations include:
- Frederickton sports fields
- Jim Stirling sports field
- Verge 1 sports field
- Verge and Eden cricket fields
- Services Club Park
- Kemp Street cricket field
- Smithtown sports field
- South West Rocks sports field
The chemical being used is Stadium Turf Selective Herbicide.
