The Tasmanian Government welcomes the launch of a new service, the Small Business Peak, to help small businesses understand and meet their employer responsibilities and national industrial relations changes.
Minister for Small Business and Consumer Affairs, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the new service, operated by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA), would be a great source of advice to Tasmanian business owners.
"Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future provides the right settings for our 41,000 small businesses to thrive and grow, including our Renewable Energy Dividend, capital grants of up to $10,000, single-form tendering and our $1 million innovation grant program," said Minister Ogilvie.
"No matter whether it is a new business or one that has been established for some time, IR rules can be complicated and daunting, especially for small business operators, so this new service promises to be a great help.
"While we have an extremely resilient small business sector, help should never be turned away and the new Small Business Peak initiative will complement the existing range of advice, funding and support provided by the Business Tasmania Service.
"I commend COSBOA and the Australian Government for partnering on this new initiative to support our small businesses."
