Wentworth Shire Council will utilise the services of the company that delivered events such as the Beyond The Valley Music Festival, the 2020 Fire Fight Benefit Concert held at Sydney's ANZ Stadium and the Sydney Harbour Bridge 90th Anniversary for a major concert in the region next year.
Humm Events were awarded the tender at Council's June Ordinary Meeting, with the event planned for March 2023 at the Wentworth Showgrounds.
Wentworth Shire Council Mayor Tim Elstone said the exciting news would play a major part in revitalising the community after the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This concert promises to be spectacular and a real boost for our Wentworth Shire community," he said.
"To have a company such as Humm Events with their record and reputation putting on a show I am sure it will be well received by local residents and the visitors it will draw in alike."
The event will be funded under the NSW Government's Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program, with Wentworth Shire securing more than $300,000 for this and other events.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program would support the state's events and hospitality sectors while bolstering economic recovery.
"The past two years have been difficult, with many unpredictable events including floods, drought, bushfires and the
COVID-19 pandemic, but we know NSW residents will come out the other side stronger and more resilient," he said.
"People have been disconnected from family and friends but now they're getting out and about again – we want to see communities thriving and businesses benefiting from more local activities, events and opportunities in the regions."
