Kiama Council
On Saturday 21 December, Kiama Council's beach lifeguards attended the rescue of a holidaymaker at Werri Beach, Gerringong, alongside paramedics and other helpers.
Unfortunately the person was declared deceased at the scene.
Kiama Council sends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased tourist.
Council also thanks all those who helped out for their efforts.
Council reminds all visitors and locals to please swim between the flags, adhere to safety messaging and follow any instructions you are given by our hard working lifeguards and volunteer lifesavers.
