The Werribee Library is now open after being temporarily closed to the public while critical works were underway on the Wyndham Cultural Centre upgrade.
Wyndham City Council's Mayor, Councillor Mia Shaw, encouraged the community to head down and visit the refreshed space and see the new layout and facilities.
"While closed, the library had a re-fresh with new paint, upgraded air-conditioning and the toilet facilities were also fully renovated. Another new feature is that the entrance is now on Wedge Street and the returns chute has better accessibility for everyone," Cr Shaw said.
"I know that the Werribee Library was missed by the community while it was closed and just like me the staff are so excited that it is back open."
"Our libraries offer so many benefits to our community, including providing access to information and education, acting as a gathering space for events and activities that support physical and mental health wellbeing, and supporting social cohesion and cultural understanding."
"The staff at Werribee are very excited to welcome the community back and cannot wait to deliver the regular events and activities everyone has previously enjoyed being a part of."
