Western Australia coronovirus update as at 4 April 2021

The Department of Health has reported three new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total number now stands at 947.

The three new cases – a man in his 30's, and a man and a woman in their 40's – are all returned overseas travellers and in hotel quarantine.

WA Health is monitoring 16 active cases of COVID-19 and 922 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 56,872 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 8520 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 223 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 279 people assessed for testing at WA Health COVID clinics, 277 were assessed and swabbed.

To date, 41 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 29 of the B.1.1.7 strain,11 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
