  • Delayed by COVID-19, Expo 2020 Dubai runs from October 1, 2021-March 31, 2022
  • Western Australia will be promoted to a global audience of investors, businesses and thought leaders at this year's World Expo.

Expo 2020 Dubai opens on October 1 after it was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held every five years, the event will run for six months and is expected to attract 25 million visitors.

The McGowan Government has partnered with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is also working closely with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to promote WA's global trade and investment capability.

Expo 2020 Dubai will showcase innovations around the themes of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. Each of these themes is explored in terms of sustainability, mobility and opportunity.

The event will be held at a purpose-built site featuring exhibition spaces and pavilions, representing more than 190 countries.

Visitors to the Australia Pavilion will be invited to 'Explore a diverse land built on 60,000 years of innovation'.

Expo 2020 Dubai provides an opportunity to plan beyond the current pandemic and show the world what WA has to offer on a global stage.

WA's presence at this global event will be supported by the Government's Dubai office, and expands on the State's engagement with new markets and aligns with Diversify WA.

Innovators, including Western Australia's FBR, creators of the world's first fully automated end-to-end robotic bricklayer, will showcase their technology to a global audience.
