Western Police Launch Joint Crackdown on Traffic Offences

Western police are continuing to target traffic offences through high-visibility patrols and planned operations.

A recent joint operation between members of Western Road Policing Services and Wynyard Uniform resulted in a vehicle being seized, and 16 drivers being issued with infringement notices for various offences including speeding, not wearing seatbelts and parking-related offences.

Across the four-day operation, police conducted numerous breath tests and the following results were also recorded –

12 defect notices

2 drug drivers

1 unlicensed, unregistered driver in an uninsured vehicle

1 unlicensed driver

1 disqualified driver who allegedly evaded police - the driver's vehicle was seized as a result.

While the majority of road users were doing the right thing, we will continue to proactively target those doing the wrong thing on our roads.

Anyone with information about dangerous driving behaviour should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperstas.com.au
