Western QLD Aid: Boost for Producers, Biz, Non-Profits

  • Small business and Non-Profit organisation recovery grants of up to $25,000
  • $12 million for a Community Relief fund for Councils

The Australian and Queensland Governments have announced additional support targeting primary producers, small businesses, non-profit organisations and local councils in communities impacted by the Western Queensland floods.

The $69.75 million funding is the next round of relief to help communities to respond and recover from the catastrophic flooding in Western Queensland. It includes:

  • Emergency Disaster Assistance Grants of up to $75,000 for impacted primary producers located in the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Barcoo Shire; Boulia Shire; Bulloo Shire; Diamantina Shire; Longreach Shire; Murweh Shire; Paroo Shire; Quilpie Shire and Winton Shire.
  • Small Business and Non-Profit Organisation Recovery Grants of up to $25,000 for impacted small businesses and non-profit organisations located in the LGAs of Barcoo Shire; Boulia Shire; Bulloo Shire; Diamantina Shire; Longreach Shire; Murweh Shire; Paroo Shire; Quilpie Shire and Winton Shire.
  • A Community Relief Fund of up to $1 million for Councils, located in the LGAs of Barcoo Shire; Boulia Shire; Bulloo Shire; Diamantina Shire; Longreach Shire; Murweh Shire; Paroo Shire; Quilpie Shire and Winton Shire and other at-risk councils, as needed.

The measures are funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
