In an Australian first, Westpac Altitude Rewards customers can now use their Altitude Points for any* credit card purchase, anytime, thanks to Westpac 'Pay With Points'.
This announcement means eligible customers can now use their Altitude Points towards purchases where Mastercard is accepted, without needing to use the existing redemption process. This opens a world of possibilities at the flick of a switch when using points towards purchases, from morning coffees, to groceries, tickets to the latest gigs, or flights.
'Pay With Points' makes it simpler to view and use points instantly, enabling customers to use their points for purchases and receive a cashback within moments. Customers can now switch on 'Pay with Points' easily through the Westpac app, which was voted Australia's #1 banking app by Forrester in November 2023.
Jason Hair, Managing Director, Consumer Finance & Chief Digital Officer at Westpac said, "'Pay With Points' is all about putting power back in our customers' hands, giving them more convenience and choice and allowing them to use their points in ways that suit their lifestyle and preferences. Our customers have been asking for this and I'm delighted we've now delivered it."
"We know Aussies are tightening their belts at the moment, but opening up the ability to use points towards everyday purchases gives a little bit of flexibility that we know will be appreciated by our customers", continued Mr Hair.
In addition to using 'Pay With Points', Westpac customers can continue to redeem available points through the Altitude Rewards Centre for gift cards, travel, and cashback.
Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne customers also have access to an exclusive partnership with ShopBack. In the past 12 months alone Westpac customers have received more than $19 million in Shopback Cashbacks.
