The academy is endorsed by Jean Todt, UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety.

I am looking forward for the first results of this inspiring initiative which can play a pivotal role in advancing the UN's mission for safer road practices and behaviours," said Todt. "I express my support to the academy, recognizing its significant contribution to the United Nation's road safety efforts."
Aligned with the United Nation Secretary General's Efficiency Agenda, the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, the academy is set to propel the UN towards the target of a 50 percent reduction in road-related fatalities by 2030 with the overarching objective being to operate with zero road related incidents.
Building on WFP's proven track record, having trained over 6000 drivers and personnel since 2007 with participants from more than 80 UN agencies and organizations spanning 55 countries, the organization has formalized this service by launching the academy.
